Hello.  Thank you for visiting my website.  My name is Shirley McCaskill.  When my children left home to attend college, I decided to start a new hobby to prevent "Empty Nest Syndrome".  I love babies and puppies.  Since I have no grandchildren, I breed and sell my favorite dogs, Shih Tzus.  Please see my History and Legend tabs for Shih Tzu background and the Links page before you make your long-term dedicated decision to purchase a Shih Tzu.  I also encourage you to check out my Shih Tzu Care page.

I detest "puppy mills" and insist that any dogs and puppies in my possession share my home as beloved members of my family.  My dogs and puppies do not live in cages.  They are free to roam my home (with pet door) and yard at their own free will.  I breed my females at their second or third heat. Since I am a small hobby breeder, I will never have a large volume of puppies available.   If I do not have puppies at this time, please check back with me for my next new litter.  I will be glad to put your name on my no-obligation waiting list.  I believe in quality, not quantity.  I do not line breed or inbreed.  All of my mothers and puppies come from AKC Champion Show Dog bloodlines, usually champion-sired or grand-sired, so you will receive an exceptionally beautiful and healthy breed standard AKC registered puppy.

My puppies will come to you spoiled and loved, completely weaned and socialized.  They will have their dew claws removed, their first puppy shots given and with a worm-free and well-dog certificate from my veterinarian.  I will be glad to give you his phone number for reference if you would like it.

I strongly discourage purchase of my puppies by families with children under the age of five for the puppies' health and safety.  Shih Tzu puppies strongly resemble stuffed toys (see photos above) and some young children treat them as such.  I reserve the right to refuse sale to any family or individual whom I deem unsuitable or unsafe for my puppies.  I will not sell to brokers, puppy mills, or pet stores, so please do not contact me.    I offer limited AKC registration.   I encourage responsible neutering.   If you are a reputable breeder and want full AKC registration papers, please email me so that we can discuss whether I feel comfortable selling you a puppy.   My prices depend on the pedigree, color, sex and breed-standard conformation of the puppy.  When you choose a puppy you will pay half down and the rest two weeks before you pick up the puppy/the puppy is shipped.  I will hold your choice after the deposit is received.
